Wow. I mean WOW! It's been over a year since I last saw a clean tub. You've done a wonderful job, HoosierShave. Congratulations and thanks for the inspiration. Looks like an empty tub of Shannon's soap weighs about 58 grams with the lid on. I'll add it to my list. Thanks again!

Thanks Bouki!  Sticking to one soap for more than a day isn't my preference but it feels so good to have this one done.  What I found most interesting was the difficulty in loading a lot of of soap the past few shaves.  My spreadsheet shows the last four shaves used 1.94 / 1.14 / 0.80 / and 0.41 grams of soap.  These numbers were despite the fact I was loading for a good 30 to 45 seconds.  Today's shave was just enough to get me 3 passes and a little bit of cleanup.

BTW, the final count on the number of uses was 36.  Based on the amount that was loaded over the past four shaves, it's proof to me that i can get away with a lot less soap than I normally load.  A tub of Shannon's could easily last 100 shaves.  But those facts won't change my habits any time soon Smile

Incienso t. (Eufros) frankincense

This fragrance has turned remarkably sweet and beautiful over the years. JabonMan offered Incienso back in 2017, but it met with some disappointment, especially in the Spanish shave site that commissioned it. I can see why. My first whiff, four years ago, reminded me of a mishmash of weird herbal scents. I didn’t get any resin at all. But now the scent has settled down, and I smell lemon, honey, and pine notes. There’s some camomile in there too. To be short, it smells a lot like frankincense. After all the brouhaha surrounding the fragrance, Manuel said he wouldn’t make another batch. That's a real pity, because Incienso smells divine.

HoosierShave, there have been times in my shaving career when that last little scrap of soap has 'accidentally' slipped out the tub and slid down the drain. Gasp. I'm truly impressed that you had the stamina, patience, and integrity to ride this horse all the way to the stable. Now thirty-six shaves is a decent return on a four-ounce tub of soap, especially when you consider how easy these soaps are on the wallet. And what's more, right now your skin is loving you for all the luscious lather you've lavished on it.

So what's up next?

Saponificio Varesino Colonia

Boys, supposed to be sunny and make it to the 50s today. Craving some Italian sunshine - working the SV
with the DRH Arlington accessory line up.

Celebrating today - My youngest son of 3 is the starting hurler for the OSU Cowboys [ranked #9] : he got the win against Texas Tech [ranked #4] last night. I was born near Farwell Texas - my relatives are all Tech fans, and we all understand what the smell of money is [cow manure] from the stockyards. Maybe that is why rose is my favorite scent - grandma's rose garden offset that cow poo in Farwell when I was 4 years old crawling around her backyard? [Image: 730afb8e5ad63502f72865ab5b83f83d.jpg]
