Darkfall starts off smelling like leaves burning in your backyard – smoky and acrid and a little earthy. Mash it around your face and you begin to notice warm spicy notes too. They’re faint, so it’s hard to pick out exactly what they are: black pepper? cinnamon? nutmeg? cardamom? More a smell of warmth than of any particular spice. And then the woody bits come out. They’re hard to place, too. Imagine you’re walking through a damp forest. You bump into an old stump and give it a kick. It falls apart under your boot and at the same time gives off a clean kind of rotting smell. That must be the oud. Good smelling? Yeah, altogether these notes smell like the last days of autumn. But don’t save this soap just for that season. Darkfall is a real pleasure throughout all the year.

Yesterday evening my son asked me over to get the go carts running. It’s been a long winter and the lane is finally clear. The kids were itching to get their buggies running. We did. They had fun. And Grandpa Dobby and his oldest son had a few minutes to sit and visit. I showed him a couple of vintage axes I just finished restoring and he showed me some of the shaving brushes he’s getting ready for the next brush drop. One thing lead to another and before you know it Martin DeCandre came up, thus the choice of vetyver this morning and oh what a lovely shave. The vetiver scent is certainly in keeping with the MdC motif, vetiver meets the Michelin Man, but oh so pleasant and easy. By the way, yesterday’s springtime has given way to today’s thunder snow. Alas, spring in Idaho is always by fits and starts.Man, I miss thunder snow! Have a good time on the buggies once the snow melts again. And enjoy that Vétyver. You've certainly given it a nice home.

Congratulations and thanks for the inspiration. Looks like an empty tub of Shannon's soap weighs about 58 grams with the lid on. I'll add it to my list. Thanks again!
