A few drops of Rose Absolute is very nice addition, but I would recommend next time you use only the best - from Bulgaria. Imo, the combination with Moroccan and Turkish rose oil is degrading this beauty.

I have some Bulgarian too. I rotate it with a Moroccan, the Triple, a Rose Geranium, and a Rose Essence (jasmine, ylang ylang, rose geranium, amber, patchouli, and sandalwood), so that I get to experience the various qualities.

Dave, how did this one go? I have it too but haven't used it yet.
From the tub, I'm having a hard time understanding the scent. Does it open up when lathering?
Not for me it didn't, to me the whole experience was kind of meh.... I was pretty disappointed as I had read a fair amount of praise for Moon soaps. The performance was good overall, the soap gives a very nice lather but just ok slickness. as a whole definitely not on the same level as the ones I would put as top tier. I'm going to give it a few more shaves and hopefully, things change

An early evening and very quick shave.  Should've chose a different soap though...I forgot this one requires time and patience to get a thick luxurious lather.  Oh well, it was plenty slick for my 1-pass shave

American Blend t. (Fine Accoutrements) faint fougère

Fine describes the smell of American Blend this way: “Inspired by Rive Gauche pour Homme (2003) by Yves Saint Laurent, the scent calls to mind warm cream accompanied by tonic, leather, and chrome.” Hmmm, OK, I sort of get the Rive Gauche part – but tonic, leather, and chrome – no way. American Blend is a mild fougère more reminiscent of Barbasol than any fine French parfum. It does not smell like a barbershop, and the resemblance to Rive Gauche is faint. In fact, I had to give my puck a boost today with a few drops of the real RGpH just to help me recognize the similarities. No complaints about the performance, though. These Fine soaps make a solid lather that holds its shape for three passes and then some. The finish is slightly waxy but very comfortable.

This is the old soap base made in the Netherlands. Has anyone tried Fine’s new Italian-made base? It looks sort of croapy.

T+S Sicily.  Always a joy.  Not at all sweet but utterly distinctive - bergamot and citrus.  And great lather and face feel.

Barrister and Mann Bay Rum

Geez what a wonderful fragrant yogurt like face batter.

This year my exploration challenge was to find a few bay rum pucks to get in my permanent rotation. The results are predictable I think : Stirling, Mystic Water, Sir Henry, Barrister and Mann, and Turtleship. Not in any particular order BTW. I do think they are best suited for certain seasons. B&M will always be my cold weather bay rum. Great scent strength - and his balm has my density preference : similar to the Tabac, L'occitane, and Pre de Provence balms. Wunnerful shave.

Lisa’s Makes some great soap but most of them are too unisex to tickle my fancy.  Not that unisex scents aren’t good.  They just don’t suit my preference.  Somali Rose on the other hand is masculine and wonderful.  Rose, chocolate, sandalwood, musk, moss.
