What soap/cream did you use today?

Crabtree & Evelyn Mysore Sandalwood shaving cream (vintage). Great lather, and the scent is subtle yet somehow more sensuous than other sandalwoods.

Mike's Barbershop

Lip shaved with this not too long ago. I commented at the time about loving Mike's, but never been able to get a puck per availability: that very day I checked - and got me a puck. We all know how solid Mike's is regarding performance. This is stuff is a classic, clean, bright barbershop - very much in line with Soap Commanders Honor and Maggards London Barbershop. Scent was strong of the puck - and filled the bathroom. Some of Mike's soaps - the tallow scent slips thru. But on this, no siree bob. No fat smell - great offering. This is in my bbshop ring of honor, and is saved for my Saturday shaves/haircut day. Easy to lather, plump finish, slick - affordable. Somewhat difficult to purchase - but worth it!

Folgefonn v. (Fitjar Islands) mint wood

February was supposed to be the month I focused on Fitjar Islands soaps. I got off to a good start, but here we are at the end of the month, and I’ve hardly touched them in weeks. That’s a real shame since they’re excellent soaps with mild but interesting fragrances and really nice presentation. You may notice that even after a dozen shaves, there’s still 103% of this soap left. In other words, Jorunn has given me more soap than she promised on her label. This is typical of Fitjar Islands. In fact, I have one of her soaps which is actually 134% of the stated weight. Good people up there in Fitjar.

B&M Rhapsody (Soft Heart Series)

Very interesting scent. It seems like Juicy Fruit gum as a starting point, and waves in and out of cinnamon, green, floral / jasmine, and ylang ylang.
