What soap/cream did you use today?

Soap Commander Courage

Ethos Grooming Dragonsbeard V2 shaving soap. I was worried that its very dark color might stain the white tips of brushes, but it doesn't seem to do so.

TommyCarioca: that's really a nice label, and your shot is nice too. But I think your background may be over exposed. All your bluegrass looks white for some reason.

Bouki - man, I have seen the sun 3 times in the last 2 weeks. And the snow hasn't melted a molecule. Wish i were your neighbor. Today was the first day I haven't worn my 'shopka" in the house per furnace trouble in 3 weeks. A stressful month keeping the pipes thawed! Highlight of my day is commiserating with my fellow wet shavers

Sorry to hear about the furnace and the pipes! I hope things thaw out for you soon. Must be a trial to shave while you're wearing a shopka (you might have to remind me what that is again). And thanks for your posts, in spite of the cold. They're one of the bright spots in my day. 

My old 'shopka" is russian fur hat i bought 20 years ago while in the siberian oil fields. I am an old geologist. Didn't shave back then - needed every whisker to keep my head warm.

After seeing posts about Soap Commander Serenity (Crackling Birch or Crackling Cinnamon???) I pulled it out of the closet box and gave it another try. Lit me up like a bonfire (maybe that's the crackling part?). I couldn't even finish the first pass, has to switch to another soap.

Finished the shave with Razorock Blue Barbershop (croap version). I really like the smell of this stuff: a clean tobacco, powder, and citrus heavy barbershop. Unfortunately its fairly low in the protection dept.

Ooh well, I've done plenty of stupid things, this can just be added to that pile.

Funny edit on the jar - like you I will risk just about anythin for a fragrant shave.

El Jefe t. (Sir Henry’s) brown tobacco

This is tobacco leaf that’s been left to dry until it’s brown and bitter. The sap that smells so flowery in the green leaf has now turned to notes of dried apple and spice. A good drop of musk keeps all the edges smooth. If you want to add a little sweetness, El Jefe goes very well with Serge Lutens’ Chergui.

Mine hit the bin.  Wasn’t too bad but I could feel it and when I really leaned into the scent I got.......cinnamon.  Great scent but Cracklin Face is correct.
