Juniper t. (Cold River Soap Works) grassy wood

How did I let one year, four months, and fourteen days pass without using this soap? I must have been mad. Both its performance and its fragrance are worthy of the proverbial desert island shave. Even after having been benched for all that time, Juniper still made me feel like I was standing ankle-deep in fresh sawdust. The juniper was sappy and tart, while the vetiver gave body and staying power. The only reasonable conclusion to such a shave was giving myself four big blasts of Encre Noir while I hummed Monty Python's lumberjack song.

PAA Pareidolia

Of all the many Phoenix scents I've owned, I think this has endured the status of favorite the longest.

According to Wikipedia, Pareidolia is the tendency for incorrect perception of a stimulus as an object, pattern or meaning known to the observer. Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, or lunar pareidolia like the Man in the Moon or the Moon rabbit.

Not sure what that has to do with the scent here, but it's very woody.

Scent Profile: Mysore Sandalwood, Sage/Patchouli Hydrosol, Oakwood Absolute, Benzoin Resin, Hedione & Artemisia Essential Oil (Wormwood).

Wicked cool name, definition, AND artwork. Probably the actual reason he named the soap, rather than trying to coordinate with scents.

Shaved with Dolomiti 4.3 again this morning and I want to keep using it a bit longer. One note, I have noticed a few more Tcheon Fung Sing in their sotd posts. As many years as you have seen me post about shaves using SV, I can tell you I spent many year buying many of the various TFS soaps. I have tried many of the ones used recently in the threads like this. They make a nice shave soap and to be honest, I really enjoyed their perfuming qualities. So many of the citrus and floral scents were my favorites. They make a nice scent with spice too.
