What soap/cream did you use today?

Fine?  Why?  I learned yesterday that Fine is discontinuing Green Vetiver, Fresh Vetiver, Santal Absolut, and Lavender pro Homme.  Why?  Talking to vendors these were not slow sellers.  All of them I really like.  Well, I’ve got some for awhile but then so long old Friend.

I for one will really miss Fresh Vetiver

Fine Santal Absolute

Tabac like lather quality with an out of this world 'light cologne' sandalwood scent .

What I loved about this soap was the ability to shave with it all year, any season, any occasion. A great all-arounder. The AFS was potent - lasted for hours.

HoosierShave, I've tried so many ways to noticeably deplete my stockpile of soap – focusing on only a few tubs, sticking to one brand, using only the oldest, restricting myself to just the softest – but I just can't stick with any method. I guess the only thing that matters is that every day I chip a little more off the mountain. Seeing that "Used this year" number go up gives me incentive to keep loading like I love them (but the real truth is, I've got enough soap to keep me happily shaving for the next fourteen years).

Tundra Artica v. (Saponificio Varesino) oud, sandalwood

Was there a blade in the razor today? There must have been since I don’t feel a barb on my face even six hours after I shaved. Give credit to Tundra Artica, which has a wonderful cushion. But some of the comfort of today’s shave is also due to the razor and the blade. For a long time I went after a BBS by choosing my most aggressive razor and pairing it with the sharpest blade. Lately, though, I’m rethinking this strategy. It’s no longer a question of how sharp a blade can my skin stand. It’s more a question of how mild a blade will get the job done. Now I’m reaching for my most sweet-tempered razor loaded with a blade that I once thought was too dull to do a clean job. The Bolzano blade has a reputation for being drab, maybe even a bit rough, but load it into a Henson razor and it becomes a keen whisker licker that leaves nothing but happy hide in its wake.

Mystic Water Cedar and Sage

Awesome lather and very favorable post shave, I loaded like hell and hydrated it pretty wet

It was a fun shave but somehow I still gave myself razor burn for a couple hours after
