NICE lather, Pine Sol scent. Going to PIF

This is not, I repeat not even close to Rive Gauche.

Not sure how that formed up in the threads - whew.... A stinker this one is. [Image: 83b2e935b95e8b4923ec476120cdf895.jpg]

Tierra Humeda v. (Eufros) true vetiver

The label isn’t going to win an AIGA award, but the stuff inside is world-class excellent. Eufros' premium line is all vegetal, but it builds a lather that for body and slip rivals anything made with tallow. And the scent … it’s straight up, high-quality, clean and grassy vetiver that comes as close to the smell of the actual root as anything I’ve ever tried. Of course, being a Eufros soap, its availability is unpredictable. For that reason, I’ve been babying this tub for eighteen months. But this year I just may have to abandon myself to pure pogonotomic hedonism and wallow around in this Tierra Humeda until I find the bottom of the tin.

Hopefully the recent increase in thinly-veiled divisive rhetoric will die down soon, much like the stench from this jar does when it's lathered and that it ends with a perfect shave just like this did.

What kind of grill set-up do you have, Nero?  Gas/Charcoal/GreenEgg????  Everything looks so delicious!
Thank you for the kind words!

There are two pieces of equipment:
1. Weber charcoal grill, I always use lump charcoal (not briquets)... this was how the steak was grilled
2. Pit Boss pellet smoker... for the chicken, though they are actually roasted (400 Fahrenheit, about 28 minutes on each side), not smoked (low and slow)

Got a little low on the soap pile there?  Glad you picked up some more. It had to have been stressful being down to only 40lbs of shaving soap.....
Cold sweats and shakes!!

Second shave with DG Trismegistus (Milksteak)
...first with Lupo 72.

This combo had me checking to see if there was really a blade in the razor. Apparently so.

What does Trismegistus mean?

We had at least 6 visitors today (that is, until the dog found out they were around and scared them off)

I love reading this thread and revisiting my times before using different shave soaps from over the years. It is a fun thing to think how many products we have all tried that we have in common with each other as well as enough other soaps that people post that you haven’t tried before. It makes me want to buy more soaps so I am trying not to fall into the rabbit hole again. I asking myself to maintain discipline with software, especially soaps.

I used L&L Grooming/Chatillion Lux collab Champs de Lavande shave soap again tonight (with a synthetic brush). I really enjoyed this shave and during my time face lathering the last couple months, I try to assemble the lather just as wet as I normally want but a bit quicker and let fussy. I find I am still getting the really smooth lathers and wet lathers with a bit more time cut out. Maybe I am cutting a minute out of face lathering (still at least a couple minutes facelathering). This soap is pretty damn thirsty and pretty much gave me a nick free 3 pass shave so props to this old bison and lanonlin formula. The post shave is very protective but since our weather isn’t very cold or dry right now, the post shave feel is pretty fatty or waxy. Not complaining but I am definitely not using the kokum or mango butter when using a soap like this. It already has that level of protection. I may shave with this again this weekend.

Stay well and happy shaving my friends
