Also Ethos today and good stuff it is!  So is the splash.  So was Frank Lipani's including some extra scent for lathering with when I bought it from him.  Makes for a fragrant shave.

It is a fun thing to think how many products we have all tried that we have in common with each other as well as enough other soaps that people post that you haven’t tried before. It makes me want to buy more soaps so I am trying not to fall into the rabbit hole again. I asking myself to maintain discipline with software, especially soaps.

I used L&L Grooming/Chatillion Lux collab Champs de Lavande shave soap again tonight (with a synthetic brush). I really enjoyed this shave and during my time face lathering the last couple months, I try to assemble the lather just as wet as I normally want but a bit quicker and let fussy. I find I am still getting the really smooth lathers and wet lathers with a bit more time cut out. Maybe I am cutting a minute out of face lathering (still at least a couple minutes facelathering). This soap is pretty damn thirsty and pretty much gave me a nick free 3 pass shave so props to this old bison and lanonlin formula. The post shave is very protective but since our weather isn’t very cold or dry right now, the post shave feel is pretty fatty or waxy. Not complaining but I am definitely not using the kokum or mango butter when using a soap like this. It already has that level of protection. I may shave with this again this weekend.

Stay well and happy shaving my friends

A great post but yet suggest that the majority of shavers lack the skin sensitivity to discern the incremental deltas between top tier and truly exquisite soaps - which, frankly, am truly happy they so blessed. The worse one’s skin, the more readily apparent are these differences.

I think about you and your tender skin often and am glad that the only issue I have is cinnamon.

NICE lather, Pine Sol scent. Going to PIF

This is not, I repeat not even close to Rive Gauche.

Not sure how that formed up in the threads - whew.... A stinker this one is. [Image: 83b2e935b95e8b4923ec476120cdf895.jpg]

Like tallow and steel soap but my taste of scents don’t fit well with his.  Pinesol would not be a good smell for shaving with me.

The label isn’t going to win an AIGA award, but the stuff inside is world-class excellent. Eufros' premium line is all vegetal, but it builds a lather that for body and slip rivals anything made with tallow. And the scent … it’s straight up, high-quality, clean and grassy vetiver that comes as close to the smell of the actual root as anything I’ve ever tried. Of course, being a Eufros soap, its availability is unpredictable. For that reason, I’ve been babying this tub for eighteen months. But this year I just may have to abandon myself to pure pogonotomic hedonism and wallow around in this Tierra Humeda until I find the bottom of the tin.

Pogonotomic?  Now you’re just showing off!  You a college professor or something?  Hahaha.  That was a word I had to look up.

And, on the other hand, my taste of scents mesh very well with T+S.  I confess I bought Madagascar by mistake and the ylang ylang I can't take and I did find Boreal too "sweet" but I've loved others (e.g., Sicily, West Indies, Merry, India Bay (love it)).  But, Lipripper600 what, to you, does Classic 2 smell like?  I can't get a full sense from the ingredients. What I really want to know is whether it is at all sweet or perfume-y?  As I said, Boreal disappointed because it smelt a bit too sweet, rather like birch beer to me.  (BTW, am going to put up my unused Madagascar soap and AS for sale soon; anyone here want dibs on it, message me.)

I don’t know what this soap smells like because I just don’t do Tallow and Steel anymore.  As stated, good base but I have yet to find a scent that really interests me.  Other makers I do purchase are predictably pleasant.  Can’t help you with the scent on this one but I can share that if TommyCarioca reports it smells like pinesol, I would believe him. Boreal sounded great. To me it missed a Boreal experience by several miles. Maya smelled like a crummy Mole. Morocco billed as a Smokey rose really piqued my interest only to find no Rose present. I quit trying after that knowing full well it was tickling someone else’s fancy and I am glad for them.
