A few years back there was a fellow making soap in California under the badge Local Gent Shaving.  He never made much of a splash in the hobby and that is unfortunate because three of his scents are three of my favorites. Sandalwood which of course is a sandalwood scent, California Barber which is a barbershop scent with a super nice citrus top and Bay Rum which is not a true bay rum at all but fits more in line with the Old Spice vibe of scents.  I really like Old Spice a lot, thus the Shultons in the picture, but I wish Old Spice smelled like this “bay rum”.  So gloriously spicy without smoking my skin.  Local Gent made his soaps from grass fed organic beef.  Does that make a difference?  I guess I don’t really care because this soap makes great lather and offers a great shave with a stout scent that doesn’t fade.  Glad I still have this old puck and I need to revisit it more often.
