Gorgeous lather, HoosierShave! And congratulations on your final approach to the donut holes in Lit and Darkfall. Please keep us posted. In all shaverdom, there's nothing rarer or more marvelous than finishing a tub. What soaps do you hope to dispatch in 2021?

Thanks Bouki!  Last year I made the decision to use a few soaps more often and I was able to finish Mike's Bay Rum and most of T&S Morocco.  Thankfully, Mike's recently came out with a new batch of Bay Rum and I ordered a refill puck.  The T&S is one of my favorite "smoke" scents and I couldn't bring myself to finish it since, to the best of my knowledge, it's been discontinued.  I decided to keep about a 1/2 ounce of the soap and will enjoy that Cade-goodiness scent for awhile.

This year I have chosen six soaps that have a good chance of being finished off.  The Lit & Darkfall have the most left in the tub but the others were chosen because they already had the donut holes started.  Not pictured is a sample of Shannon's Aussie Ice...it will actually be the 1st sample soap i've ever finished (i mainly buy samples to determine whether I like the scent and not to make judgement on the soap base)

HoosierShave, you've got your work cut out for you. What do you think, maybe six more weeks to finish off this lot? Do you keep track of how much soap (on average) you use for each shave? (I'm currently burning through my soaps at 1.98 grams per shave.)

Haven’t yet decided if I’m a Gentleman’s Nod fan or not.  This is my only GN soap and when I first got it the scent was too “busy” for my liking but as I spend time with it, the scent is becoming quite more understoood and enjoyable.  Zaharoff Signature is complex I must say.  I can’t pick any of the listed scents out individually but what I can tell you is this scent is very well balanced and very firmly masculine.  The soap is firm and easy enough to work with but just not quite in my wheelhouse.  The lather I find a chore in my hard water but performance and slickness are top shelf.  I’ll keep using it and see if I don’t become more aware of its nuances.

Royal Fougère t. (Asylum) full fougère

At last a fougère that hasn’t been gelded. An ample dose of moss topped with daubs of patchouli and wood brings out the smell of the damp forest floor. There’s also quite a bit of geranium, but it doesn’t protrude, and the citrus, aromatic, and earthy bits all stay in their proper places. Royal Fougère is a joy to use, and it leaves me smelling – and feeling – like I’ve spent the morning rolling in clover.

Ha! Have not encountered the idiom ‘rolling in clover’ since youth...that was refreshing on a number of fronts.
