First time with A&E Amber Rose
It's funny how many of A&E scents "aren't really my style" but I still get along with just fine. This exemplifies that too. Not sure how much rose or even amber I get, if any at all... Definitely a lightly spiced, sweet scent, but I can't put my nose on any specific notes.
Amazing performance and feel... As expected.

La Fougère Parfaite t. (Wholly Kaw) tame & tidy fougère
Traditionally the fougère accord is made up of three notes: lavender, coumarin, and oakmoss. Lately, though, we’re seeing more and more fougères without the moss. Partly this is due to IFRA limitations on the use of oakmoss in grands parfums, partly it’s down to style. Modern perfumers sometimes consider the moss-heavy fragrances of the 70s and before as old fashioned. They lighten their new fougères by snipping out the moss and replacing it with citrus, geranium, and patchouli. Though the result is light and clean, these fragrances lack that deep earthy note that takes the fougère out of the bathroom and sets it among the bracken. To me, a really good fougère has to smell a little dirty and a little wild. It should smell like damp, ferny earth. Otherwise, it’s just another garden variety scent.

What soaps do you hope to dispatch in 2021?
Been a couple of days since my last post. Life gets busy sure enough. A while back I got a tub of Lisa’s Natural in Somali Rose and although I don’t enjoy the lather like I do others, it is nonetheless one of the top shelf soaps out there. Where it really shines is it’s scent and man oh man I do like this one. So good, so masculine, and so not a simple Rose. In fact I would put this into an Oriental Fougere classification but hey, I ain’t no nose. The Rose is there but very subtle. Sandalwood, something resinous, chocolate, and moss seem to be singing in the choir. It’s strong without being pushy. It’s subtle without being a wall flower. It lasts most of the day even after I rinse it off and that is a very good thing.

Stick to your guns Bouki my friend. Fougere has to have the Moss!

Thanks Bouki! Last year I made the decision to use a few soaps more often and I was able to finish Mike's Bay Rum and most of T&S Morocco. Thankfully, Mike's recently came out with a new batch of Bay Rum and I ordered a refill puck. The T&S is one of my favorite "smoke" scents and I couldn't bring myself to finish it since, to the best of my knowledge, it's been discontinued. I decided to keep about a 1/2 ounce of the soap and will enjoy that Cade-goodiness scent for awhile.
This year I have chosen six soaps that have a good chance of being finished off. The Lit & Darkfall have the most left in the tub but the others were chosen because they already had the donut holes started. Not pictured is a sample of Shannon's Aussie Ice...it will actually be the 1st sample soap i've ever finished (i mainly buy samples to determine whether I like the scent and not to make judgement on the soap base)
