A drawing underneath would have taken away from the beauty of the stunning Italian ceramics.  I should have taken the soap out with an image of the inside too, just beautiful!

A drawing underneath may have done just that...but i really enjoy seeing your drawings!

Floris Verbena shaving soap (tallow), an unsung great one, although to my aging and increasingly insensitive nose it is losing its scent.

Am in complete accord with you regarding good lather does not inherently equate to good soap as it depends on one's needs/priorities; mine being cushion and postshave above all else.

Nectar Amissa t. (Noble Otter Soap Co.) potpourri

This is a dry, spicy rose smelling as much of wood sap as flower petals. Nectar Amissa – Latin for 'Lost Nectars' – prolongs the olfactory pleasures of late summer with its evergreens and dried flowers. It reminds me of a bowl of potpourri sitting on a long wood table towards the end of November. What leads it all off, though, is the spices. I think I get cinnamon and cloves. They're rich but not particularly strong, so I didn't worry about irritation. I loaded deep, built an excellent lather, and had a great shave. Can't figure out why I let this tub of superb soap sit untouched for 18 months.

1.  Loading with a 28mm tuxedo fan - 15 seconds
2.  Face-painted for 1:30 then dipped a quarter of the knot in sink water
3.  Continued to dip/face-paint up to the 4:30 mark, at which point, I swirled/agitated for the 1st time (honestly, I was a bit surprised how long I face-paint before the 1st agitation)
4.  Dipped/quick agitation (5 sec)/then face-paint
5.  Stopped at the 12:30 mark
These directions are going to be chiseled into my wall! Thanks for the details, HoosierShave. I'm utterly astonished in so many ways: Leading off with paint strokes! (That's brilliant. I start off with fast swirls, and too often things get foamy on me.) No agitation until 4:30! (Looks like I'm getting into a flurry way to soon.) You don't even pick up the blade until almost 13:00! (A clock will soon be mounted over my sink to help guide my patience and endurance, and I've definitely got to work on my lather zen.) — You're not a trainer by any chance, are you? I could see you running some really beasty lather reps.
Wink
