Trumpers Violets hearkens to a day when men's fragrances leaned more to floral and Rose was king. When not everyone had access to such floral luxury. Before men felt like it was necessary to wear a fougere or be labeled somewhat less than masculine. Thankfully lavender has sort of built a road to where floral notes are gaining popularity with men, and the house of Creed in fact leans on floral heavily in their very popular scents. Trumpers Violets smacks you with the floral scent of Violets but also the greenness of the stems and leaves and that's about all, but it is enough. I absolutely adore this scent. I hope that someday Trumpers will once again make soap that lathers because after this puck of potassium palmate first ingredient Violets is gone, it's gone. This iteration lathers easy, stable, and slick. The new stuff lathers thin although it's slick. I understand the cream is still top shelf stuff.
Tried a sample of Aussie Ice from Shannon's Soap this morning - bloomed during the shower and then face-painted/dipped brush for about 10 minutes
Scent on this one is going to be very subjective...do you like smelling like toothpaste? Personally, it doesn't matter much to me as I typically use AS anyway. The menthol level in this soap is perfect for me...you can definitely feel it, but it's not a face-freeze by any means
