What soap/cream did you use today?

Razorock is often maligned as a sub-par soap.  It's not the very best I own but if price per oz and scent are taken into consideration, Razorock offerings might be the best value in Shaving. Saturnia is an awesome blend of sulphur and herbs and man oh man is it delicious.  It doesn't smell like “date night” nor does it smell industrial.  What it does smell like is standing at the edge of a hot springs as you skinny out of your clothing.  Your feet bruise some plants underfoot.  The mix of that sulphurous water and the mashed plants, plus sunshine and fresh air and you have Saturnia.  That Razorine razor in the picture is not overly aggressive but it does demand a steady hand and sure strokes to render a close shave.  Protection is critical.  Well, this “sub par” soap did its job flawlessly offering plenty of protection and slickness.  Would I like that scent in a B&M or a Sir Henry's/Black Tie base?  Sure I would.  But at $10 for 5 oz I'm not complaining about its performance at all.

Traditionnel v. (Le Père Lucien) lemon, rosemary, thyme, lavender, eucalyptus

Ouch. That was a nasty shave. My face is ripped and red. This is an old tin of Traditionnel, made in 2017 before the addition of Shea butter to the base. Even 200 swirls couldn't gather enough of this seized soap to coax a lasting lather. I used to get great lather out of Traditionnel, but over time its performance disintegrated to the point that now it offers almost no protection. The label says the soap should be used within a year. I wish I taken that advice seriously. What's left of this soap is headed for the bin.
  

WHOLLY KAW / King of Bourbon
Darn, following Bouki is not something anyone likes to do and I’m horrible at describing most things! 
Wholly KAW never disappoints, the bufala base is impeccable protection.  I used a Level 2 OC too for my Kentucky Derby Day shave.  Scent is a spicy ginger, splash of bourbon and a fragrant vanilla.  Lather is luxurious and I never feel like I need a splash or balm after WK or GD. Skin always feels soft and hydrated.

How do you like Kanpai? Love the scent, great lather too.  Imho, this might be the best Local Gent has ever done.  It’s a thirsty soap. The protection was there too after adding and adding water, I loved it.  I’m using it again next shave pairing it with Eleven Lime&Basil Balm

For ME, AoS Sandalwood Soap or Cream (pre-2011) is the BEST Sandalwood scent ever. I’ve never smelled anything close to this Sandalwood
