Felce Aromatica v. (Saponificio Varesino) light green

Saponificio Varesino offers a dense cake of soap that's loaded with fragrance all the way through. This tin of Felce Aromatica is now three years old. Though it's been in constant rotation since the spring of 2017, it still looks and smells like it was just cracked open. Part of its longevity is due to how quick and easy it loads. Like Martin de Candre, Saponificio Varesino makes a soap that fills your brush with only twenty swirls. In fact, loading past that point doesn't always lead to a richer lather. Instead the emulsion goes gummy and keeps begging for another drink of water. This soap calls for restraint and a light touch. When you heed the call, what a fantastic face full of lather follows.

This IS why SV does not work for me. Even when I think I load lightly with it, I still have to add a pint of water.

Maybe I just need to keep working on my touch. (but I don't feel like buying it again).

Glad it works for you!

Tangent Warning:
YMMV is a very real thing. If I watch current IAMCDB videos, he always gets a great shave
1. from lather that is way too thick (early and not enough water) for me
2. and he only paints it onto his face

Whereas, I need more water, more time, higher brush speed, and more brush force (...not that I'm forceful, but moreso than just slapping/painting); otherwise I DEFINITELY will cut/nick myself, every time. I must scrub the lather in so that it is part of my skin.

Today, I bloomed the soap for about 10 minutes.  Loaded with a damp 30mm Tuxedo for about 20 seconds and face-lathered for 8 to 9 minutes.  ended up with a gloriously slick lather which filled the bath room with an intoxicating Bay Rum scent

Hey, no surprise here.  Big day today so I brought out the big guns AOS Sandalwood.  Love the scent and the soap.  This is the current formula and I don't really miss the tallow. The scent has an anise note absent in the tallow soap but both of them are amazing.
