Marshlands t. (L&L Grooming) bergamot, vetiver, nutmeg
I get more than grass and lemon rind. The label says oakmoss is the third note, but I smell spice. Maybe it’s nutmeg, maybe it’s allspice. Either way it sharpens the vetiver and makes it even more exotic. Like amber (vanilla, labdanum, incense), like chypre (labdanum, bergamot, oakmoss), or like fougère (lavender, oakmoss, coumarin), Marshlands is another perfect triune accord. Why this soap is no longer offered escapes me. It’s always been one of my favorite vetivers. Declaration Grooming’s attempt to improve Marshlands, Dirtyver, came out curious but not any better than the original. At any rate, both are gone now.
