Love the smell of this barbershop soap. Seems to work well, in protection, slickeness, and post shave feel. Still, I can't help but want to try Mike's, as that is what I've seen this compared to the most (I think). Still, wary I won't like the Mike's scent. Decisions decisions. Lol.

I have both and, honestly, there is very little, if any, difference in terms of scent between the two. The soap bases are different though. If you don't have any Mike's and are curious about the base, I would suggest choosing a different scent. Now, if you don't mind having two soaps of the same scent, go for it!

Would you say the Mike's base is better?

I'm glad they are the same, worst case scenario, I have another base to try for the same scent. The Hendrix scent is among my top 10, I'd say.... maybe even top 5. :-)

Thanks.

Eufros/Jabonman Tobacco shaving soap (tallow). Although it provides excellent cushion, this soap's lather does not give me much glide, for some reason; the razor almost tugs on my skin.

Murphy and McNeil Bad Mor is their take on Bay Rum. Scent is medium. Consistency is soft. Lather is super low structure. Shave is fantastic. Bay Rum? Nah. There is no Bay in here. The scent is pleasantly spicy though and good.

King of Oud t. (Wholly Kaw) fruit, flowers & oud

There’s a nice rose bouquet in the middle of this royal oud. I smell some fruit and chocolate and sandalwood, too. Odd thing is I also pick up wet paper and a smudge of dirt. It’s complex, and like a lot of complex creations, it has both its attractive and its repellant sides. I take a deep breath and I smell the prom. I take another and I smell what you've swept up off the floor after the dance.

Personally, yes...I think Mike's has a better base. But I put Mike's base/performance in my top 5 and maybe even top 3. I love the slickness and post-shave I get with Mike's. I needed to say that so you know it's coming from someone who is probably a little biased Big Grin
