The more I use this soap, the better I like it.  Scent is awesome.

Do you have Stirling Nag Champa?  I find the two scents to be nearly identical...which is good because that scent is definitely awesome!

Very similar scents. Don't have the Stirling Shave soap but I did use the bath bar.

With temperatures and humidity both in the 90s, it's time to bring out the big guns. Hot, wet weather does a number on my hide. I need all the protection I can get. Summer skin craves tallow, and of all the tallow soaps on my shelf, Oxford & Cambridge is the surest defense against blade burn. It's heavy on clay, so there's great slip, but that same clay also mutes the scent. The mint's not quite as sharp and clear as it is in the O&C edt. In its place I'm getting some oak moss that makes for a dark elegant lavender even if it is a little on the earthy side.

I bought this soap about 5 years ago and I like it more today than I did when I purchased it. And, when I purchased it, it was in my top 10.

It’s amazing what a good whipping will do to these LPL soaps. Today I made the lather right on my face with my softest synthetic brush. A good hearty flagellation yielded a suitable emulsion that was slick and solid and completely acceptable. After doing some scraping, I slopped my brush around my face a little more. The second pass was beginning to show signs of greatness. So I added a couple more drops of water and did some more agitating. The third pass had it all: thickness, slickness, scent, and stability. You really have to coax this stuff, but when you get it right it’s oh so wonderful. FR includes tallow, so it leaves your skin feeling a bit lardy, quite different from LPL’s all vegetal lathers that rinse away so squeaking clean. But there’s nothing wrong with the cushion, and I was spared all tightness. In fact, eleven hours after this morning’s shave, I’m still feeling anointed.

Ok - the new formulation is way better! I am a face latherer, and i go at it quite awhile with the chops and my brushes. The cushion on the new stuff is really really good. And the scent, oh my! I have a new summer puck to get in my rotation. My only complaint is the residual slickness - not like a tallow based soap..... But Bouki is right, finish is amazingly good. Got to dial it in a little more, but very refreshing! A keeper and it makes me curious about the other scents now. May uber lather it with an unscented cream for slickness.
