What soap/cream did you use today?

I have one more shave on this tub of Strop Shoppe Black Tie. Out of business since 2016 I believe and this is the only soap of hers I owned. Great scent and great performance. In fact it would stand with the front runners of today but it would seem that a lack of a business plan buried them. Sad but inevitable in this heavily saturated market. The scent is an amazing blend of wood, leather and citrus. The citrus is most certainly used to lighten rather than lead. Awesomely done, but what's the point? Unless Stirling picks the scent up, like they did Baker Street, this one is all but unavailable.

The Holy Black - Gunpowder & Spice - lather wasn't great this morning...definitely had too much water.  Slickness was still good but the residual slickness was lacking.  Oh well, the scent is still amazing and the face feels great 3 hours later

Floris Verbena shaving soap (tallow) + I Coloniali shaving cream

I generally don’t get excited over a new soap or cream that I just tried for the first time.  I have found that every soap has different characteristics which sometimes take a couple of uses before you are comfortable with it. However, this Baume.be cream has changed my mind.  The history of the cream is it was developed by an individual who has sensitive skin.  First things first.  The lather covered my face with a slick feeling and a nice fragrance.  My razor glided on my skin and post shave felt very good.  It had all of the qualities you would want in a soap or cream.  But this is what also impressed me.  I watched a YouTube video of a guy using a boar hair brush.  He took the brush and barely touched the cream.  His brush probably only went into the cream about 1/8 of an inch and created an amazing amount of lather.  I tried the same thing I could only see some of my badger hair brush tips with a tiny bit of cream on them.  That small amount created enough lather (I face lathered) for three passes.  Incredible.  This cream seems to like water.

Sounds great Tidepool. How would you describe the fragrance? Potency?

The fragrance is floral and woodsy such as cedar and moss. It is pleasant not over powering.
