I believe that Chris Cullen makes the most approachable scents in the industry and La Terre Verte is one of my favorites. This is the old formula and I'm not sure what the new formula was trying to improve because I find the old one to be just fine. Scent strength is a potent 8.5/10 and plays fougere straight forward. Lavender and oak moss have a home here. It really does harken to a "green earth" and fit this brisk spring day just perfectly. Oh, and by the way, I love the Semogue 830 boar for face lathering and this one has been my good friend for a few years now.
Natural Bay Rum v. (Meißner Tremonia) Jamaica rum, West Indies bay, a whiff of clove
Last week I roamed through all my bay rums. Each was very nice, but if I had to pick one to be marooned with, I'd choose MT's Natural Bay Rum. The fragrance is very simple – just rum, spicy bay, and a dusting of clove. What's missing? Well, citrus. I don't miss it at all. In fact, I'm not too wild about a lot of orange in bay rum (though I do like a slice of lime). MT makes up for the lack of true citrus by using litsea cubeba, an oriental evergreen with a citric, slightly peppery aroma. It works very well with the cloves and the spicy scent of the bay. The dark brown puck makes a lather the color of a pale, pale peach, and it leaves your brush smelling delicious.

Nancy Boy Replenishing Shave Cream
Thanks to recently winning an Instagram giveaway, I’ve finally had the chance to try Nancy Boy’s shaving cream, which I read about on some other forums quite some time ago. Though the fresh, fairly mild cucumber-like aroma in this Replenishing series of products may not have been my first scent choice, it’s actually rather nice and refreshing. The shaving cream performs wonderfully, and I’ll definitely be keeping some Nancy Boy shaving cream at hand from now on.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
