Noble Otter Lonestar
What a nicely scented soap from an underrated soap company! From their website: "The sage in bloom is like perfume", thats where we started when we decided to make a new scent dedicated to the state of Texas. Lonestar is our vision of that scent. The olfactory experience starts with top notes of sage and lemon, followed by the heart notes of magnolia and Texas cedar. Finally, the base notes includes the truly Texas experience of oakmoss, leather and hay.

The soap performs wonderfully and this scent is exquisite to my nose. I picked this up as an afterthought to Texaus and what a surprise it has been. Noble Otter is masterful with scents like Thé Noir et Vanille and Lonestar.

I'd Never heard of it before right now! Went to the website and see it's either brushless or with a brush. How do you like it?

Hmmm. Is that sage accord an herbal sage or is it the sharp western sage I chase cows through. I'm looking for a soap with western sage and maybe you just directed me to it. (Always wanted to give noble otter a go.)

Fresh Rosemary t. (Le Père Lucien) lemon, lavender, rosemary

The soap's called Fresh Rosemary, but it's more like fresh lavender and fresh lemon. Although there's some rosemary in the mix, it's not the pungent rosemary that's growing gangbusters just outside my window. LPL's rosemary, at least in this soap, has been tamed and softened. It smells floral. Not at all what I was expecting, but pleasant enough for a calm spring morning. I used an old Edwin Jagger DE 89 and had one of the most comfortable shaves I can remember.

I've said it before and proved it again, Wet Shaving Products soap is top shelf stuff. This morning was Tobacco and lest you think this smells like tobacco, it does not. WSP states that cured tobacco is the base but states the accord contains tobacco flower too. I can tell you what many flowers smell like but I've never bent over and sniffed a tobacco plant in bloom. What I can state is this soap smells floral. I get citrus notes and a kiss of fir. This is a bright green scent perfect for spring. As always, great performance for a totally under appreciated soap.

It's a 6/10. More presence than a DR Harris soap. Less than a Stirling. If you are familiar with L'Occitane Cade, about like that. Scent opens a bit on lathering and remains during shave but this one doesn't stick around after final rinsing.
