Vintage Shaver
Seattle, WA
Roger & Gallet l'Homme shaving soap (vintage). I like this soap a lot, but its lather just does not quite equal that of the vintage English tallow soaps. For me it is very good but not truly great.

You know what is the worst thing about old Caties Bubbles soaps? A: that Chris gave you 6oz in the container and you will never see the bottom of the tub! Today was Ocean Grove, decidedly an aquatic and a lovely scent at that. As I've shared before,I'm not really good at separating all the individual scents but I am pretty good at sharing which scents I enjoy. This one is very approachable. Mr. Cullen was going for the scent of where land and sea meet at a place called....Ocean Grove. Never been there so I don't know if he nailed it or not. It does not smell like the seashore of anywhere I've been but I can tell you the scent evokes a peaceful feeling for me. This is a very approachable scent and I would suppose the majority of folks sniffing it would agree that it's good. This isn't a "gun cleaner" scent or "rotten fruit in a dumpster" scent, all terms I've heard to describe other soaps. In my estimation Chris Cullen is a masterful scent-mixer and I truly enjoy his offerings. Slickness and cushion are passable. Lather comes easy with this one.

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Cologne-Fougère v. (Le Père Lucien) lavender, rosemary, mint, hay, bergamot, green tobacco

This is the big brother to yesterday's Fresh Rosemary soap. Cologne-Fougère has been around since the early days of LPL, and it still has the intense fragrance of the pungent countryside scents that marked Cyril's first offerings. Yes, it will perfume your whole den while you use it, and if you leave the lid off, it will scent your whole house. Home for lunch, I opened the front door and was greeted by the smells of Provence – aromatic herbs, fresh green grass, and a dash of tobacco.

There's no tallow or Shea in Cologne-Fougère, so if your skin still feels lizardly after the cold dry winter, give yourself a good moisturizing when you shave with this soap.

B&M - 42...ever since the donut hole appeared, I have really gone after this soap. In anticipation of finishing another soap, I've been using large knot brushes and load like there is no tomorrow on this puck. This morning, the "ring of soap" finally broke apart and I now have a half ring left.
