Vetiver (Le Père Lucien) vetiver & cedar
Soap makers must always be tinkering with their formulas. I say this because this tub of LPL Vetiver performs so much better than the soaps I bought from this same firm only a few years ago. In fact, one of my oldest soaps is a tin of LPL Rose du Pushkar. It won't build a lasting lather no matter how I coax or threaten it. But today's LPL Vetiver made a lather that was nearly as dense, stable, and glossy as a tallow-based soap. And what's more, it was loaded with cushion, a feature that LPL soaps have not always abounded in. The finish, always superb with this soap, left nothing to desire. And the scent was a rich vetiver, my favorite. Have I found my shave nirvana?
