Storybook Soapworks Visions and Revisions--last night I dreamt of using this soap with the matching AS so I woke up this morning and followed my dream. This is a delicately scented soap that cushions well which suited my needs.

J. Alfred Prufrock would approve.

RazoRock XXX Formula Duro

The scent of the XXX soap somehow reminds me of the Sunlight brand bar soap in the lakeside sauna of my aunt’s cabin in eastern Finland. Truly a pleasant scent! This Formula Duro (with tallow) also performs quite well, although the cushion and post-shave departments would benefit from some added butter or oil.

Nectar Amissa (Noble Otter) geranium, rose, spice, tea

I think of nectar as something that's sticky sweet and oozing from a plump fresh flower. I'm not getting that here. Instead this lather smells like my hands after I've gone through the yard pruning planters and deadheading roses. It's the smell of bitter stems, wood, and faded flowers that have lost most of their nectar. In the middle of this withered bouquet, the geranium note is surprisingly pronounced. I'm looking forward to trying this soap again in a few weeks after the geranium has calmed down. Hopefully then the spiced tea and roses will have stepped forward to give the soap's overall scent better balance.
