Well, day late and a dollar short, but rose soap Sunday was the tried and true Czech and Speake 88 lathered with a 22mm HMW from life2short1971 (Scott). The razor was a Nichiri King Pelican 14 symmetrical western kamisori, followed by D. R. Harris Pink AS.

Cheers, Steve

Mirto di Sardegna (Saponificio Varesino) lime peel & myrtle

Myrtle is Venus' flower. She must have put her charm on me, because I love this stuff. The scent is mild, tart, and just a little sweet, and the lather is as good as anything I've whipped up in a scuttle. Today I reinstated something I haven't observed since I started messing with traditional razors: the one-pass shave. It was marvelous and quick, without even the slightest hint of irritation, and I got just as close with one pass as I used to get with three. What this means, though, is that I'll need only half the lather now; so, my soaps will last twice as long. With fifteen pounds of soap on the shelf, I should be well stocked with suds for the next twenty-seven years.

The short version:
“Back in 2014, Wickham Soap Co. founder Darron stumbled upon an old shaving soap formula manufactured commercially in England in and around 1912. A naturally inquisitive chap, and excited to try something new, Darron thought it would be fun to recreate.”

A longer explanation of how the 1912 formula came to be is here:

I kind of wish he could have used the branding “1909,” as that was my grandfather’s birth year. But “1912” is easy for us wet shavers to remember, thanks to a certain famous razor model. Smile

Are there any specific tricks to this process that you wouldn’t mind sharing? I’m a two-pass shaver myself, and am just curious. (I also have so much soap that one-pass shaving would really make me feel like a hoarder…)
