Russian Leather (Wickham Soap Co.) Imperial Leather
According to the description of this scent on Wickham's Web site, there's no castoreum or birch tar in this. Still, it smells like a very convincing rendition of leather – elegant, rich, and just the right aroma for a soggy grey morning. It's closely based on Cussons' Imperial Leather fragrance (1976), which traces its pedigree back to the Romanov court of the 18th century. Most of us know the scent from the bath soap of the same name.
Does anyone know why Wickham's shaving soap is branded '1912'?
