Brutalt Bra (Bergums Såpkokeri) pine

With only four ingredients, there’s not much in this soap to be allergic to. I’ll credit my flushed cheeks tonight to the fact that Brutalt Bra has about as much cushion as a bunk bed at a Boy Scout camp. I don’t see the soap mentioned in this forum all that often, although it pops up from time to time in the selling and trading threads. I think I know why now. It will give you a close shave, if you have the right razor and new blade. The finish, though, is as lean as fish bones. The tightness and tingling, which started as soon as I put my razor down and lingered for hours, coupled with the piney scent, gave me the impression that I'd splashed my face with turpentine. The name, Brutalt Bra, translates into English as ‘brutally good.’ Today I got the brutal part. I'll keep tinkering with this lather, and next time, I hope to get more of the good. I'm open to tips if any of you have had good luck with this soap.

I firmly categorize this soap in the “good, not great” class of soaps. I’m actually a little impressed with the lather, considering that it only has four ingredients (and one of those is the scent). I also like the subtle but fresh scent (I have the “Norwegian Woods” or “Norwegian Spruce” — not sure which one is the official name).

I’ve never had any real issues with the soap, but there isn’t a lot of post-shave goodness to speak of. It feels as if this soap was created strictly to provide a lather for cutting stubble, not a lather for also nourishing the skin. A pre-shave product may be a smart move, and I would advise to supplement liberally afterward with a balm or lotion of your choice.  Confused

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
