Cologne-Fougère (Le Père Lucien) lavender, rosemary, hay, bergamot
Day 2 — An extra drop of water makes all the difference with this soap. Today’s well watered lather was much slicker than yesterday’s, and it gave better protection, too. I got a remarkably close shave with excellent skin conditioning that only seemed to improve as the day went on.
Fougères come in many varieties, but the constant elements are typically lavender, coumarin, and oakmoss. Cyril uses his moss with a light touch, tempering its bitterness with a generous drop of bergamot. That citrus note makes the soap smell at first like eau de cologne.
