What soap/cream did you use today?

Mike's Hungarian Lavender.
One of the finest soaps (perf/scent) in shavedom.

I wanted to order the SV Stell Alpina but I was worried about the 'tightness' Bouki mentioned above. Scent sounds wonderful but the soap base sounds like it might not tackle Vermont's winter climate!

Original Figaro P.160 shaving soap. Its fragrance is long gone, so it just has a very faint soapy smell, but it easily made mounds of extremely rich, slick lather. In the future I'll add just a hint of EdT, probably Creed or Acqua di Parma, while whipping up the lather.

Amen & amen! I could use Mike's Hungarian Lavender for the rest of mortality and be perfectly happy.

The scent is wonderful! I noticed the tightness when I didn't use an aftershave, but it wasn't the same as the tightness I normally associate with a drying soap. The face feel during the shave is actually very creamy. When I used my normal post-shave routine with this soap, I didn't feel any tightness-- the skin just felt supple.
