Great vetiver for this morning. Black Velvet from Black Tie. The thing I like about this one is that unlike most vetivers that try and use this grassy wonder as a bit player, this one gives it the leading role. It's not dirty dank and smoky like salters French vetiver but neither is it a cleaned up, Sunday-shoes vetiver either. Smells to me like "outdoors" and who doesn't like that? The soap base is slick and protective and oh so easy to work with. No persnickety quirks here. Wide Windows. Easy load. Great face feel. And for those who care, veg soap. (Both their veg and tallow soaps work equally as well for me. The post shave is legendary in my book.

My first dance with the SV Soap... Wow!
top notch soap in every aspect... very slick, good protection , nice pleasant fragrance.. I get mostly citrusy notes with a balsamic finish... excellent quality too i must add, triple milled.

Eufros usually comes in an aluminum container. Call me finicky, but I think the metal taints the scent of the soap. Today I scooped it out of its tin and mashed it into a wooden bowl. There’s no lid, so the soap filled the room all day with its reeky goodness. Damp and earthy, it’s a good scent to come home to on a stormy afternoon. I’ll leave it uncorked and look forward to using it often. This is straight up vetiver without any accompaniment. The fragrance is not quite as powerful as Salter’s French Vetiver, but Eufros' soap base shaves better. If you take your grass dirty and bitter, Tierra Húmeda is a soap for you.
