This is good soap but it doesn't take me on a bronc ride through the junipers in the heat of summer like Cade does.  It doesn't lather as easily as my favorite AOS Sandalwood.  It doesn't finish like mystic waters.  It's a good one for sure but it'll be hitting the trail as I have so many more I like better.

Is Cade a straight-up juniper scent? I really enjoy my GD Elan mainly due to the scent so now you have me curious about Cade. And thanks to your prior and current commentary/reviews, I'm on the lookout for some tallow-based AOS Sandalwood

Hemingway Accoutrements shaving cream. The lather was a little thin this time. I think I went too light on the cream and ended up adding too much water.

Cade is not straight juniper nor does it have the astringent qualities of the GD Elan. What it does for me is transport me back to riding a horse through the junipers hunting cattle. Where Elan is like cupping crushed juniper berries in hand and sniffing, Cade is more a juniper on the breeze scent. To me it smells like mountain air and the sun is just starting to heat the trees. The scent is more refined. Its cleaner. It smells of juniper and sunshine and heat and I'm 16 again astraddle Pal and looking at the world through his ears.

Cade often gets put into a medium tier category but to my usage, although not the top performer I use, it is perfectly serviceable. It's triple milled and hard so I believe guys don't load long enough or work the lather sufficiently to,get its best performance. Its the scent that makes it so desirable to me.
