2 pass, touch up under left nostril (for SS Alpha Spirit side)

This was an A/B shave with the Feather DX with Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG and the SS Alpha Spirit with the original Kai Captain Blade. In the mustache area, the DX did a better job under the nostrils (no touch up needed on that side compared to the Spirit side that required touch ups). Neither were terribly comfortable in the mustache area for the dense, first pass but I would give the edge to the DX for the first pass mustache area. The Spirit was smoother to shave with than the DX but I have not shaved with the DX in a while. I would say the DX gave a closer shave on the neck with 2 passes. Both gave a nick in the lip to chin transition area. Both sides of my neck could have benefited from a third pass. Overall a pretty good shave considering how much growth I had. I am sure an unguarded blade in the DX would have made short work out of that growth, but I am not sure my face was ready for that challenge today as I was in a time crunch.

Second shave with my Feather AC DX Kamisori. Second day on the Feather ProGuard blade.

Head shave. My intent was to do a few WTG passes for practice and then finish with the DE.

I shaved my neck and cheeks with my DE, then started the top of my head with the Feather AC DX Kamisori.

Go figure, I finished the whole shave with the Kamisori! It did take about 10 minutes longer than a normal DE shave for me. I went WTG then in some areas XTG and quite a bit ATG as well.

One tiny clean nick when my wife distracted me. Another tiny thing on my left ear figuring out how to hold the dang thing in that location. I feel a little sensitivity where my glasses arm sits over my right ear, but I think I just aggravated and old scrape, not a new one. The corner of my head behind the right ear feels a little abused, but doesn’t look it and didn’t sting with alum.

Honestly, it is almost a BBS shave, except a few patches where I didn’t push the AGT enough in my caution.

I like where this is going!

I wish the Feather AC DX didn’t come with the light grey/blue rubber handle. The grip is good, but it looks cheap. Maybe someday I will cut it off and wrap the handle like a traditional Kamisori, but I am pretty bad at things like that and how it looks isn’t the issue.

How is the Xuanfeng? Is it more like the feather SSor DX? Is it made reasonably well? I can’t seem to angle my Kamisori style Feather DX to shave my neck well. The handle hits my chest, so I wouldn’t mind a filing one if I can get it that cheaply.
