Hi Gareth,
Thanks for the information, I think a signature line of brushes would be killer if you can get that lined up

I would add
- products not commonly available at other US shops
- products made UK, EU, Australia
- product webpage lists stockists
- limited editions and thus have stock where soldout on product webpage

Some brands I would buy or would have considering buying from Handlebar
- Phoenix & Beau
- Oaken
- Pils razor
- Grooming Dept
- Edwin Jagger razors
- Fitjar Islands

Thank you for your detailed answer. I haven't heard of Cooper & French, Barts Balms, or Calani. I'll have to do some research.

With talking about Calani the other day, I had to fire up a shave with Calani Oriental Plum for an incredible Saturday morning shave! A&E Asian Plum is an interpretation of the Calani OP scent, and, while I enjoy it, the Calani is definitely my preference.

I just read on Calani's website that they are shutting down in September 2019. Sad to learn this.

There might be a few artisans in Canada that could use more exposure in the U.S. I’m not sure if Soapy Bathman is very active anymore, but has made a great soap, in my opinion. First Canadian Shave is interesting, as well.

I remember with fondness the times when you had Tallow + Steel and Wolf Whiskers products… It’s too bad that those aren’t in the catalogue anymore, but it’s great that you are representing PannaCrema here in the U.S. (Now if only Marco could make some more Pure₂O DFS soap…)

I get the feeling that it’s a tough market right now. Many U.S. artisans offer reward programs for their customers, and then there are some really big players who are able to offer an extensive variety (“everything under the same roof”). That’s why I think it might be a good idea to search for something that’s a little more uncommon, or something that people aren’t likely to order from outside of the country on their own. I like the idea of Bart’s Balms, or maybe even just a few products from someone like Giles Shaving Co, Vreto soaps, or the likes.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

You nailed it I think. The market is a bit tough at the moment. I'll touch on some of your points below:
I loved stocking Tallow + Steel and Wolf Whiskers, sadly both of them have decided to not sell to vendors at this time, so I had no choice but to discontinue. I was one of the only vendors in the US offering T+S and I really enjoyed that, and I was certainly the first vendor selling Wolf Whiskers.
I've been asking Marco about Pure2O soaps and it sounds like they may be gone for good.... also sad.
You mentioned rewards programs, I too offer a rewards program on my site. I feel it's actually quite generous, as well as free US shipping on orders $55+

I'm keeping my eye out for other artisans, Soapy Bathman has been on my radar for quite some time but I haven't pulled the trigger yet, so to speak.

@"TheHandleBar", there’s not much you can do if a vendor can’t supply with goods, for whatever reason.

I really hope the ship hasn’t sailed on Soapy Bathman. His website was still working about a week ago, but hasn’t anymore the last couple of days… There are always some artisans that don’t get a lot of exposure, and might benefit from having a few items with a larger stockist. I guess the trick is finding the right artisans to work with. Best of luck with your endavors! I’ll let you know if I can think of some other brands or ideas that haven’t been mentioned.
