Thanks to everyone who chimed in on my 'Looking for Honest Feedback' poll.
Voting shows that the most common reason my site gets skipped over is because other places have more products.

So, I'd love to start a discussion on that. What sort of brands and products are you actively purchasing from other sources, that I currently don't stock (but should!) ?

You have some great brands already, but if I were to add I would put Chatillon Lux aftershaves, Declaration soaps, Maol Grooming aftershaves and Hemingway products at the top of my (very long) list.

Gareth,

You ought to see if you can get Calani Shave Soap and aftershave balm. There is no North American dealer for Calani and they will only direct ship to Europe. Their products are not crazy expensive either.

I would also consider Barts Balms from the UK. I am working myself through some samples and they are quite good.

Phoenix and Beau is another good option for soaps and, especially, aftershaves. You cannot get their aftershaves shipped from European stockists.

Zingari Man is an up and coming artisan that has an excellent vegan base and fantastic balms. To my knowledge, they do not have any current stockists and just sell directly on their website. I almost ordered some of this today.

Ariana & Evans is great, but Peter is adding a ton of stockists all across the world, so there are becoming a ton of options for customers to purchase his products. There's also a VIP program thru The Club/A&E that you would be competing against.

Cooper & French is also another underrated artisan with great products. Their Santa's Workshop Christmas seasonal is really awesome! Ruds has reviewed a couple of their soaps on his You Tube channel.

Maybe you could negotiate an exclusive scent with one of the soapers. A&E has a Pasteur's exclusive.

Maol Grooming was a great suggestion by CCity.

Aside from the software, I don't think many could support it, but it would be cool to stock artisan shaving brushes.

Best wishes,
Steve

boilerphan Ahh I almost forgot about Zingari. I reached out to them several weeks ago already for wholesale ordering information. That was supposed to be on my list above.
Thank you for your detailed answer. I haven't heard of Cooper & French, Barts Balms, or Calani. I'll have to do some research.

Hi Gareth, it's been a while!

There are very good suggestions here already. I can only add maybe a B&M excelsior exclusive, plenty more Ariana & Evans scents (cause right now I couldnt find Chococubano so I'd have to wait for a restock), Noble Otter, Wholly Kaw, Declaration, Cl, Grooming Dept and maybe a once in a while drop with Mammoth and Talbot.

Lastly when I search for your website, and type Handlebar shaving, something else comes up. Not sure if that's yours too. Is it? Maybe that can also be something that's worth looking into.

Cheers

Hi Jay! Aurelian28
Great to hear from you. I currently already stock Noble Otter, and have contacted Mammoth but they're exclusive with WCS currently.
Sounds like Declaration is one I need to add to the list. They've been mentioned a few times.
Handlebar Shaving Co. is definitely not mine. I hadn't heard of them until you mentioned that search.

It seems they've even hijacked my logo too... what a shame.

I have been contemplating changing my store name but since my barbershop name is The HandleBar, it seemed that TheHandleBarSupply.com fit best for the retail side. It's something I need to think about now.

bgolfo Peter and I did business for several years together actually. It was about a year or two ago when he decided to stop supplying brushes wholesale to retailers, at the time I was his exclusive 3rd party vendor. I sincerely miss our collaborations, we worked together on easily 100+ brushes that were available on my site with one unique design made specially for me. I haven't kept in contact with him recently, perhaps he's changed his mind regarding retailers.
On a similar note I reached out to both That Darn Rob and Wild West Brushworks when they were both very new and neither were ready to sell to retailers yet. Perhaps it's worth another shot to see if either of them are capable and willing to work together.
