Lol this sounded like a Harry Potter spell, but I agree! Wolfman ftw!

Well, I got distracted this morning, so the big event is delayed to tomorrow. But yes, I think the Wolfman is the right call, with maybe a bit of help from the Feather AC on the cheeks to see how it does. Thanks, fellas.

To get back to it, I lathered up with Nuàvia Rossa using my custom Shavemac 2-band and started with the Feather AC (Pro Guard blade). That did quite well on a good half of my face, before I switched to my Wolfman OC loaded with a Feather, which finished the job through a nice XTG second pass. Mowing down six days of growth is an experience, but it's also impressive how well these razors handle it (a Mach 3 would have been a mess!).

Before and after (neither great photos, I know):

Looking good, David. I also agree, a multiblade cartridge would have been much tougher going and perhaps painful.

Not fair, David. You've employed the old model's trick. Straight on, dead serious expression before and a smile after, making it easier for the viewer to agree that the after is better. Big Grin

If you would have let it grow even longer, wouldn't the hairs have begun to bend and therefore take on the appearence of a more dense beard? Think I see what you're driving at, though. You want to keep it short and still have that good dense scruff that can be trimmed with clippers.

Uh oh. You're on to me. :-)

True, when it grows longer it starts to look more full, but I don't particularly like it longer; I think I'm just one of those guys whose looks aren't improved by a full beard. I wore the "scruff" look for many years, and have gone back to it now and then even after getting into wet shaving. It was a good check-in to go back to it last week, as I learned that I do prefer how I look without it, and also that even a week without full-face shaving is too long. I missed it.

All I can say is: after seeing your photos, you're way too young to be a Smiths fan. Plus, would Morrissey ever let himself look like your first photo?

Seriously, I think you look a lot better in the second photo. And it isn't just the smile. Well done!
