Upcoming Releases

I saw this in a mail out today. Looks like something I might like to have.

Man, I get emails from Pasteur's all the time ... But they don't send me this?!? Shesh.

This sounds awesome. I can't read the whole thing, but if I were to guess, I'd imagine a late May release - around Davis' birthday? Can you share the rest of the advert (a dupe of ... Etc), Mark? Thanks.

Not sure when it will release. It’s not on Pasteurs yet, as of yesterday.

"Due to border shenanigans releases are now set for Monday. Pre orders are still open. Sorry for the short notice!!"

Looks like we'll have to see if this holds out, but at least they've been shipped.  Although I'm not sure that Birth of the Cool is included.

It sounds good for sure. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out. Appreciate the link.

Some other interesting releases coming, too. A new rose soap ( TommyCarioca ) as well as a Bay type scent. Not quite Bay Rum, but might have a lot in common with one? (I'm not a soaper, what do I know. Lol)

Hey guys! Sorry for begging the question by not posting about it here. I had assumed Pasteur's wanted to release the scent ASAP, but there was a lack of communication between us but thankfully we resolved it. At any rate, sorry for hyping the scent far too early.

Which brings me to a question maybe you guys can help me with. How far in advance should an announcement of new scents should be made? And what's your preferred way to be notified? Thanks!

That's the million dollar question... There's definitely the fear that too early could cause the excitement to die and hurt sales. Too late and you might miss the mark.

I, personally, began thinking about Spring soaps in late February? So 2 months or so before they are "in style", so to speak. So, maybe a month or two, max? I'm sure others will have some better thought out and more helpful answers.

Thanks for asking Sean.  I prefer to be notified by email, and one to two weeks notice is enough for me, perhaps even less.  I don't do instagram or facebook, except in the very rare occasions when something is sufficiently important and there is no other option.  For me, nobody's soap meets that standard.  This is obviously a self-centered reply, which was written that way by design since it seemed to be what you are after.  Nevertheless, as mrdoug's post points out, there are other factors for you to balance, such as how to time the buzz so the buzz wave crests around drop-time.

I think a couple of weeks before actual release date.  And then send another message the day before the release date as a reminder.  I'd be happy with email notification.
