I'll be posting soon to be released scents here.  We have some exciting scents coming up in January, including an exclusive scent only available at Stonefields.

Week of Jan 17

Aspen Parkland (unscented)
I know some people are adding their own essential oils to an unscented lather.  We actually make 30 or so blends at the moment, with everything from "Sauvignon Blanc" and "Toasted Maple" to "Royal Earl Grey". This is a great way to get strong citrus scents since they tend to get muted in the soap making process.

Red Eye to London (Stonefield exclusive)
Jonathan at Stonefield commissioned me to do a scent inspired by his trips to London and some of the soaps he encountered at his hotel.  I'll leave the scent notes a mystery until closer until the release.

Viticulture (Grape, Vetiver, Toasted Oak, Fig, Cedarwood)
Based off of our long selling "Red Wine Barrel" hand soap. Grape and vanilla oak off the puck that reveals vetiver and cedar in the lather.  The grape adds a sweet element to it, but this is a darker scent that is strong on the cedar side.

Lemon Spice (lemon, lemongrass, lavender, cardamom)
A variation of our popular "Lemon Cake" diffuser blend.  This is scented entirely with essential oils, so expect this one to be lighter.  If you missed our Cardamom Chai release last fall, this is in the same spirit and should tide over the cardamom fans.

Week of Jan 24

Winter Cabin (raspberry, rum, velvet, sandalwood)
With the success of our Autumn Cabin scent, I'll be released a new "cabin" scent for each season. Our winter version is not woodsy but is dark and warm with some nice raspberry top notes.  I wanted to get this out in time before Christmas but we already had our hands full.

Birch + Root (root beer)
A classic root beer scent mixed with traditional ingredients such as spices and a hint of fir balsam and blue spruce.

I'll resume posting upcoming releases on this thread now that our moving sale and new base release is behind us!

I wanted to talk about our new Icefields Parkway scent dropping this Sunday.

Icefields Parkway is a highway that connects Jasper and Banff National Park and really is an unbelievable drive. Coming home from our BC trips, we always add a couple hours to an already long day and take this route (provided it's not closed due to excessive snowfall), exiting at the Saskatchewan River Crossing which sees a young North Saskatchewan river that we meet back up with again in Edmonton.

It's fitting then that this scent uses one of my favourite essential oils, Eucalytpus Dives-- otherwise known as "broad leaf peppermint." It takes the best elements of both peppermint and eucalyptus and makes for a sweet, *very* mild and almost buttery take. Since the name "Icefields" demands it, I added in some spearmint, cornmint, peppermint and just a touch of cedarwood and the more traditional eucalyptus most are already familiar with.

There is no menthol in this soap, but it is naturally present in the EO's used here and you can expect some cooling effect.

Other scents ready on Sunday (12pm MST):

SEA TO SKY:
Bergamot, lemon zest, black currant, sea salt, hyacinth, patchouli, seaweed, driftwood.

LYCHEE IS A STONE FRUIT: Lychee, Red Tea, Mango, Peach, Plum, Tangerine, Benzoin

SAUVIGNON BLANC (VITICULTURE II): White Grape, grapefruit, green cognac, tarragon, cedarwood, lemongrass, hay, palmarosa

And restock of:
Lilacs in Bloom, Spring Cabin and Royal Earl Grey

I've looked around but don't see much in the line of details on Birch + Root.

If I'm understanding this correctly, it smells like Root beer / Birch Beer? Is it a sweet scent, then? Strong or weak smelling soap?

Much appreciated any details you can offer. Thanks!

Birch + Root is definitely a root beer style scent but leans towards the herbal aspect with elements of birch, evergreen and a very mild amount of spice.  There is sweetness present for sure, but I wouldn't call it a "sweet" scent and people so far have reacted favourably to that fact.  Scent strength is subjective but most of our customers would agree we have "medium" scent strength on our soaps. I hope that clears up and questions you may have!

this may be a description of an argument I had with my wife and we don't like to give out details.
