Last releases until Autumn Cabin next month!
Royal Earl Grey sees some significant changes and is much warmer than prior versions. Sea to Sky is largely the same, just some minor tweaks to the top notes. I'm not sure if I'll
revisit these scents or not, but if I do it won't be until the year after next.
ROYAL EARL GREY
Notes: Bergamot, Black Tea Accord, Milk, Lemon, Lime, Lavender, Cucumber, Amyris
Bergamot is the key ingredient for Earl Grey's distinctive flavour and makes up a third of the scent blend for Royal Earl Grey. The bergamot comes to life with the addition of lemon and lime, though they meld together and aren't easily picked out. The citrus blend is supported by my own black tea accord, with elements of rich vanilla-esque benzoin, creamy sandalwood, earthy tobacco, a hint of smoke and leather, and finally, black tea aroma chemicals. And since no cup of Earl Grey is complete without a touch of cream, this year's version has a bit of spiced milk present.
SEA TO SKY
Notes: Bergamot, Orange, Black Currant, Sea Salt, Hyacinth, Lemon Zest, Patchouli, Seaweed, Driftwood
Inspired by my frequent trips to the west coast of British Columbia, Sea to Sky is named after a highway that runs along the coast between Vancouver and Squamish. The Sea to Sky highway showcases the west coast's characteristically scenic landscape, connecting both ocean and mountain range.
Sea to Sky features a classic marine scent trio of sea salt, driftwood and seaweed-- but for a modern take these elements are balanced with bright citrus oils of orange and bergamot, light florals and fruity top notes from the black currant.
