Underrated Shaving Soaps

I think Mystic Waters is an underrated line. I think they produce a top tier soap. Anybody else have feedback on Mystic Waters?

Also, who here has experience with Van Yulay?

Tone, I am not sure Mystic Water is underrated, but it is a superb soap, and possibly, - and again being repetitive and I apologize - the best soap I have tried when considering all its attributes of lather, performance, post-shave, numerous scent options, always in stock, wonderful and professional proprietor, ingredients and all for under $10.

Van Yulay is a decent offering; personally, I found the scents overpowering and not to my liking; also, the lather and performance were fine, but nothing compared to the top artisanal soap, out there.

Totally agree with Sourav. Mystic Water is one of my top soaps for all the reasons listed above and for the price, you can't beat it.

One pet peeve I have is that everybody always calls it "Mystic Waters". There is no S, it's just Mystic Water, lol. It reminds me of living here in Michigan where a lot of people add the "Michigan S" to the names of stores or companies where it doesn't belong. Like, "I work at Fords" or "I'm going shopping at Krogers". It's kinda funny. I wonder where it comes from?

HOLY CRAP... That is a pet peeve of mine as well and I fricken spelled it "Waters" anyway!!! ugh. That reminds me of living here in Cali where for example some people say "mines" instead of "mine" and it drives me up the wall. LOL

I hear what you're saying for sure about it not being underrated (in regards to Mystic Water). I guess in my outlook on this subject, if a soap line isn't being talked about or shown frequently, it's underrated. I think that's what I meant in regards to being underrated... or maybe I should have said under-recognized ;-)

In regards to Van Yulay, I actually like the scent strengths, but I have to agree with you fully in regards to the performance.

There are two exceptionally good soaps that get very little attention: Alluvian and Smooth Operator. the Alluvian is vegetal, organic and rather pricey. The Smooth Operator is tallow based and is very inexpensive. These both soaps perform absolutely wonderfully. Scents are nice and not overpowering

I have about 8 different Mystic Water soaps right now. There are definitely quite a few more that I'd like to try

I was gonna mention Alluvian soaps but I thought I'd wait and see if anyone else mentioned them, and you did!

Super expensive, but I think they're worth it. I love them.

LEA classic hard soap and Griffith Shaving Goods Tallow soaps. Both good products that produce great shaves for me.

Portus Cale is easily the most underrated soap I have ever used. It's one of my favorite soaps for sure.
