I'm gonna have to look into what you're saying about Ballenclaugh slowing down production, I hope they are not thinking of ceasing because B&C is definitely one of my absolute faves
Agreed — Sapone Di Paolo has great soaps and balms, and Paolo is also a very nice fellow and a good member of this forum.

As for Ballenclaugh, there seems to have been no activity on the Facebook page for about nine months now, and the same goes for the web site…

While I'm here, I’ll add another shaving soap that I enjoy very much: Razor Master
Their 80 gram soap pucks are made in my native country of Finland, which is probably why visibility here on DFS has been limited.

Yes, that’s the brand. I haven’t tried too many of the scents yet, but the ones I have are scented very nicely. Performance isn’t perhaps quite top tier for me, but very good nevertheless. (Their performance somewhat reminds me of Soap Commander’s soaps, which I also do enjoy.)

That's the stoneware container, right? Sweet.

The recipe is beta 4.3 they usually add something to improve on the last formula, but if you liked the previous one and you still have it in your den, I think you're good.

zaclikestoshave if I'm not mistaken  really knows his stuff when it comes to SV formulas.

This was slate. Although I do know about clay, or stoneware and porcelain, etc, I am not sure if these were made from a solid piece of slate and carved out. The reason why I think that's the case is they were around $100 or so.

And, I don't know everything about SV. I still haven't tried Manna di Sicilia 4.3 Wink haha but I did shave with SV Tundra Artica today! One of my new favorites and almost through finishing it.

I think Mystic Water is an underrated line. I think they produce a top tier soap. Anybody else have feedback on Mystic Water?

Also, who here has experience with Van Yulay?

I have used Mystic Waters soaps 68 times this year Smile (granted I have a rather small number of soaps - 51). I currently have 9 MW soaps (tried 19 including samples)

In my very subjective opinion, Mystic Water soaps are only behind(marginally) Nuavia,Jabonman,SMN (and sometimes I feel Mike's) in terms of performance and better than every other soaps I have tried. Scents are wonderfully crafted (mostly simple), usually not overpowering. She has a great sample and refill system.

I am very glad that I sent a PM over an year ago to a fella called Mr. C asking what his favorite soap was.

They can be a little tricky to lather, at first. And samples are more difficult (I use smaller synthetic brushes for MW samples). Not available in regular retailers like Maggard.

Michelle makes some truly wonderful soaps. One of the slickest soaps I've run across and great post shave as well. Just a few of her offerings with really great scents are Vétiver & Oakmoss, Egyptian Dragon, Sweet Briar and she also has a very nice Bay Rum that is different in that she left the clove scent out.

Totally agree with Sourav. Mystic Water is one of my top soaps for all the reasons listed above and for the price, you can't beat it.

One pet peeve I have is that everybody always calls it "Mystic Waters". There is no S, it's just Mystic Water, lol. It reminds me of living here in Michigan where a lot of people add the "Michigan S" to the names of stores or companies where it doesn't belong. Like, "I work at Fords" or "I'm going shopping at Krogers". It's kinda funny. I wonder where it comes from?
