I just tried a sniff test on the Bay Rum again and it’s so close to Juicy Fruit that I could easily mistake the two so yea our noses must be different or perhaps there is variation from each batch of soap. I have read others say they thought Bay Rum smelled like juicy fruits. Either way it’s not the scent for me, but I don’t hate it like most of theirs.
I have never tried any base but omnibus so I wonder if B&Ms older formulas work almost as well as the Omni? I’ve been messing with some other soaps I have and doing some test lathers and I can’t find any soap that provides the same density and slickness as the Omnibus formula. Most of the soaps were fairly similar but the Omni really stands out to me. I wish this wasn’t the case because I would love to find more scents I like from other companies that works just as well as the omnibus for me.
