Marko, agreed. I too love a good tobacco soap
My ranking

LJdJ- well blended
WSP Tobacco - tobacco flower
GD Tobacco Oud
Stirling Haverford - tobacco vanilla, TF clone
TFS Tobacco Verde - green tobacco, clean

I actually like Garibaldi by Abbate Y La Mantia very nice Tobbaco Scent and most importantly particularly this soap gives actually good lather and shave not too bad..

They have combined the cosmetic principles of the rarest Brazilian oil with an unusual, but familiar, olfactory accord of marine notes; all brought to sublimation by a spicy note of sapid tobacco from Kentucky.

The antibacterial properties of Saffron and the massive presence of retinoids in Pequi oil make this soap suitable both for the hand of the beginner as well as the more expert barber.

For me it’s just enough of that Tobbaco scent not too strong and lingers on skin for quite some time..

I highly suggest it but again YMMV…

I will have to give some of these soaps a try. My favorite soap scent so far is Long Rifle Soaps Brown Bess that’s a cherry tobacco but the soap just doesn’t perform as well as I’d like. Maybe I should revisit it since that was early in my DE shaving a few months ago and I may be able to get a better lather now.

I have a PAA Cavendish sampler I need to test as well that smells great.

The Mammoth Tobacconist smells nice and is a good soap as well.

A&E Vanille de tabac mostly just smelled like cinnamon to me.

B&M Full Measure of a Man really grew on me but doesn’t have much of a tobacco scent but I do like it and the Omnibus is my favorite soap so far.

B&M Leviathan also grew on me and I hated the smell at first it had too much of a cigarette smoke smell to it which I hate the smell of but somehow it started to grow on me as well and other notes became apparent.

I really wish B&M offered a cherry pipe tobacco scent in omnibus. But I am new to DE so I imagine I’ll find more soaps I like just as well. The thick yogurt lather is perfect for me and a light airy lather doesn’t work well to me.

When Leviathan was first released several years ago I hated it the first couple of times and then it grew on me as well. Quite like it. Full Measure has not grown on me. I can’t stand it. Noses are hard to understand.

I actually didn’t like Full Measure of a Man either at first and now it’s one of my favorites and my daily soap since I love the Omnibus formula and hate most of B&Ms scents.  I have tried most of their regular ones in the samplers and just don’t care for them.  But there’s at least 3 more I haven’t tested I may like the Amazelnut, Hallows, and Spice.

I’d actually be happy to find a top end soap like this that just smelled like bar soap which I really like.  I’ve only tried 1-2 scents from most of the other companies with some hits and misses but B&M scents just aren’t for me but the soap is the best I’ve found so far.  I’d love to find something that smells like Brown Bess but performs like Omnibus.

Maybe I should revisit Full Measure.

WVShaver you can try Mitchell’s Wool Fat. It basically smells like a nice bar soap. Actually a nice bar of Mitchell’s Wool Fat body soap which is a nice soap

How does Mitchell’s compare to high end soaps like omnibus? I’ll give it a go here soon.

I love the really thick consistency of the omnibus. I don’t add much water to it so it’s very thick and yogurty/slick without any of the airy empty feeling lather I’ve gotten with a few other soaps.

I didn’t plan to use Leviathan or Full Measure when I first opened them, that’s how much I disliked both. Now they have both really grown on me. I think the Full Measure really smells better once lathered. It’s a spicy cinnamon sweet type smell to it with maybe just a hint of tobacco but not much. I don’t like sweet smelling fruity soaps but I don’t mind a sweet smelling tobacco(ish) type soap.

The only weird thing is the Leviathan I have is much harder and not quite as good for me due to being harder. It’s still omnibus but I picked it up second hand and I’m not sure if it was left opened for a long time or if the first batch of Omnibus was just a harder consistency.

Omnibus is my#1 base. MWF is slicker but I find it tricky and impossible to get rid of all lather bubbles. Smells great though, and I really like it. I must admit on being not that fond of the B&M scents. The Bay Rum is excellent. 42 is clean and not weird. But everybody's nose is different.

I never used most of the B&M samplers from Maggards because I thought the scents were bad and almost artificial or chemical type smells to them. The Lavender I used for a bit reminded me of some cat litter from years ago. I swear I think they used the exact same fragrance because it was identical.

The Bay Rum is one I could probably use as I believe that’s the one that smelled a lot like Juicy Fruit gum but the smell never really grew on me for use as a soap. The 42 is one I’d like to sample as well along with the Spice, Hallows, and Amazelnut. I have the highest hopes for Amazelnut but since it’s from B&M I won’t hold my breath.

Like I’ve often said, smell is subjective. Nobody is going to like everything. It’s tough being a soap maker and trying to please the broadest customer base.

I have Amazelnut in the Softheart base and like it. It’s a strong hazelnut scent so if you don’t like hazelnut stay away.

I like a lot of the B&M scents and probably their bay rum the most. I don’t get juicy fruit from it but it’s pretty clear that we perceive scent differently.
