Ah, Vay Yular, you don't hear much about them anymore but I still roll out Bay of Roses and Bay Rum regularly.  I'll check out their tobacco offerings.  I've long wondered about the Henri et Victoria soaps, are they a decent base?

The last time I spoke with her she said her and her husband were moving to Texas.  So, the site could be temporally down.  But she make a lot of soap and different formulas.

Hmm   I don’t reckon on trying all of those soaps. I did discover a sample of the Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cubans in my stuff. I’ll give it a lather and see what I think

Ogalala bay rum is one of the soaps I have thrown in the trash. I liked the aroma, but there was so much clove in the scent that is burned by face. I was afraid to even use it in the shower as I have a few other soaps. Even if I had been able to tolerate the clove, I still would have not used the soap as it was hard to lather, lacked slickness, and lacked cushion. I am glad it was an inexpensive soap.

I ended up using it as a hand soap, just because it didn't work very well as a shave soap. Love the BR & Sandalwood scent, though.

The scent is a bit sweet for me, but it's a really excellent soap. I have the older vegan base, seems they've switched over to tallow since I bought it.

DG massacre of the innocents is a match of PDM Herod. I tried the scent a few months back and liked it. I ended up buying the DG set after reading the reviews. Yet to get in my hands but I am sure I am going to enjoy it. You might like Herod as a matching perfume to go along.

Another scent in soap that I like is Mystic waters Sweet Briar which is little sweeter.

I REALLY love this scent.  So much so that I bought a full bottle (You can find it way cheaper on than retail discount sites and FB groups).  I'll have to check out that soap also I guess *sigh* and here I thought I was done buying soap.

I lathered and used the Henri and Victoria Cognac and Cubans sample that I had - its an ample sample and I reckon I could get 15-20 shaves out of it.  It lathered very nicely.  I think that pretty much every soap maker has got the lathering down - whether its slick enough is another matter.  This one had a rich slick lather that smelled very nicely and gave me a three pass shave.  If I were to nit pick, and I am because its what we do, I found that it gave me a mild irritation while shaving.  I think its whatever fragrance is used for the cognac scent because I've had that sensation once before with B&M Fireside - mild burn.  

I also got the WSP Tobacco and it has a nice scent, not crazy about the small diameter tin.
