TNNSER 3D printed SE razor

I got mine and have shaved with it twice. It took quite a bit of filling/sanding to get it to fit together, especially with a blade installed. I went with the 'processed versatile plastic' from Shapeways in white. Ther cost was about $30.



I like the look and feel of the razor in hand, but the shave is rather tuggy and scrapey feeling, especially around the chin and jawline. My other GEMs are much smoother and efficient. I'll keep on trying with it and see if I can figure out a different angle or something. I'm pretty sure it's the light weight that is the issue though. We'll see...

That looks pretty snazzy in white. You're on the right track with your thinking about the angle. Don't treat it the same as you would a "regular" GEM razor, where you put the cap flat on the face. I found that just a little steeper angle works much better. It takes just a little playing with the angle to find the sweet spot. Once you do, it's smooth sailing.

Good thing in TNNSER is the the low weight in a long shape.
Very maneuverable in front of the old GEM style.
Taking advantage of this is helpful.

Got one but has wrong hardware that binds the blade some. Still a decent shave but need to get the correct half nut that is proving elusive.......Guy said he only used $2-3 in material and not to worry about it. I gave him $15 and we were both happy

What do you mean by "binds the blade"? The screw and nut don't come in contact with the blade at all. They're not supposed to at least.

I couldn't find a half nut either. I bought extra hardware just in case. I attached a nut to one of the screws, held the assembly with vise grips, and sanded the nut down on a stationary belt sander until it would fit in the slot on the razor.

I thought stating that it is put together (by the guy that printed it) with the wrong hardware (wrong head for the bolt he used) would cover WHY it is binding. I realize it isn't SUPPOSED to. Having the wrong hardware is what is causing it to do what it isn't supposed to do. I already figured I would try to grind /sand down the nut I have to use with the proper bolt I have. I haven't had the time to do it yet. Can't state it any clearer......

It's cheaper for reasons. I'm quite happy with my final product
