Need to resist on the TI Bird until the polished version gets released. Hope this will happen soon.

Congrats Shane! I am patiently waiting on the polished version and hopefully an OC plate down the road.

Hmmmm, I did NOT need to see this ... 15 minutes after a great shave with my machined stainless OC Bird .... I even love the 85mm handle. I wonder if the Ti handle and cap would be too head-heavy with the stainless OC plate? Yes, I know I’m a heretic ....

Of course, stainless OC for mowing down a couple of days growth, and Ti SB for finesse could make a great pair of wingmen ... not that the stainless Bird is lacking in finesse. Just rationalizing ....

THAT would be a reasonable solution/alternative to those that want a OC version of the Ti Blackbird.

Do you know what the approximate weight difference would be between the SS Top Caps and Base Plates VS. the Ti versions?

Correct. You can swap plates as you'd like to. I've done this and it's a cool mid-weight option. Nearly impossible to visually tell that you've mixed metals.

Weights rounded to the half gram:

Ti Cap: 8g
SS Cap: 15g

Ti SB plate: 12.5g
SS SB plate: 22.5g
SS OC plate: 24g

Ti handle: 33.5g
SS handle: 59g

Ti Stand: 66.5g
SS stand: 117.5g

Well, at least I’m not the only heretic! Good to know that it’s an option!

I wouldn't think it would be too head-heavy.
I have been using my Blackbird Brass, Polished and Black Oxide base-plates with my Stork Titanium 85mm handles and it is just fine. Therefore, with just the SS base-plate and titanium cap and handle, I don't foresee it being so. However, that would be quite subjective as you may not think so.
Good luck.
