The cost issue is interesting! A couple of days ago, Bullgoose released a polished version of their SE razor. The polished version is $30 more than the unpolished version.

I believe it's the same with Blackland Razors as well. The polished versions cost more than the machined finish. Makes sense since so much work goes into the polishing process.

Isn’t titanium softer than Stainless Steel? Why would it be any harder to polish?

I would have loved to pay $30 more and save myself the hassle and the money for the sand paper and polishing compound...

It probably is, but I found that it needed more work to get rid of tiny swirl marks and get it to proper mirror finish

Titanium is not necessarily softer than stainless. Also, Titanium work-hardens which may explain why polishing it is harder to do.

Well the stainless polished is beautiful and it is a wonderful shaver, I think I made the right choice [Image: ca25b8023740d67b1a3a5a07f4f898df.jpg]

Last I recall, there were one or two people here who emailed Timeless about the polishing of their Titanium razor... Did anyone ever hear anything back? I'm very curious about this, as I really want to buy a Timeless Titanium razor but not in the current finish. I'd pay an extra $30-50 for Timeless to polish it. I know I could send it off for polishing from someone else but I don't feel completely comfortable with that... I'd much prefer to have the maker of the razor do it himself since they would be familiar with the razors details/specifications. Hopefully Timeless can work something out to make this an option for those of us interested in the polished finish.

I emailed Matt at Timeless but never heard anything back. This is unusual as they always have responded quickly.
