How is the fact that you can now buy a new razor directly from Wolfman in a reasonable time frame a bad thing? Or how is it that you can’t flip a used Wolfman razor for an exorbitant price in the secondary market a bad thing? It’s as good a razor as it ever was and if you want to buy a new one you can and if you don’t like it you can probably sell it for what you paid or close. Just like other high end razors. The only guys this is bad news for are the guys whose sole intention was to flip the razor for a huge markup. Well, if the market isn’t hot enough for them and they want to move on, I say good riddance. Now if you’re a legit shaving enthusiast and you just paid way too much for a Wolfman razor thinking you’d just flip it if you don’t like it, well, it’s a risk you took. The music stops at some point.
I've also been at it 15 years. My first 4 wolfies were at the old exorbitant 2nd hand prices on ebay. 2 of those I flipped (0.61s) and got my money back, still have the other two.
The rest of the herd either came from James directly, or from forum members where I paid the going price for full polish razors.
My issue is not that I can't 'flip' them for exorbitant prices, but that because the basic finish options have changed the used market.
A lot of guys (me included) are just as happy with the 'lesser' finish for lesser $.
Ergo, if you have the high polish stuff there's fewer buyers than when that was the only game in town.
I love the fact that he instituted the google form order system. Anyway .... different strokes for different folks.
