Again, the need to be selective is even more important now.

However, I think that it is NOT limited to Wolfman razors, as there are SO many choices now, and seemingly endless choices to come.
+1 Jay.
I can't help but believe, the current state of our economy has had an effect.

WR2 1.15 with WRH2 80mm handle sold for $709
WR2 1.25 with WRH1 90mm handle and stand sold for $678

I have divested all my Wolfman stock at no loss.
Now I'm only in the market for premium Ti finish...but the gap needs to be chosen well
or there will be losses incurred if selling. Luckily I've done my research, and a 1.35
will be a keeper for sure.

I wanted to list a razor on Ebay recently but I don't know what the hell they have done to that site.
They want my bank account no and all sorts of personal data, there is also another business
entity called "Payoneer" involved...no thanks I'm out ! Plus I can't accept payments via Paypal if selling.
Guess I will only use Ebay to purchase stuff then, not sell.

We're definitely in the golden age of wet shaving right now.

This.
I was on the waiting list and was contacted a couple of months ago. With so many other great options around it doesn't make much sense to me to go down that rabbit hole, especially since many don't seem to get the gap right the first time around.
I passed on it and have no interest in signing up again.

I went through 6 Wolfman gaps to find the one that worked best for me.
These days I find the Rocnel Sailor MC gives me all the wolfman gaps
and attendant smoothness, at the bargain price of $600.

It involves new legislation that was passed hidden in a Covid relief bill believe it or not. Formerly ebay was not required to notify the government taxing authorities unless an ebay seller did 200 transactions and $20,000. Now it is simply $600.00 or more and you'll get a 1099 form at the end of the year. The same rules go for Paypal, Etsy, and any other third party go between in sales or in payment processing. This is why ebay wants tax #s and other personal info. Gov requires they do it. Definitely going to affect the bottom line. Elections have consequences.

Posting Freak
Just some morning thoughts after reading this thread.  I agree that we’re in a golden age of shaving. In the 15 years or so that I’ve been doing this I’ve not seen such a great selection of quality software and hardware at all price points.

How is the fact that you can now buy a new razor directly from Wolfman in a reasonable time frame a bad thing? Or how is it that you can’t flip a used Wolfman razor for an exorbitant price in the secondary market a bad thing? It’s as good a razor as it ever was and if you want to buy a new one you can and if you don’t like it you can probably sell it for what you paid or close. Just like other high end razors. The only guys this is bad news for are the guys whose sole intention was to flip the razor for a huge markup. Well, if the market isn’t hot enough for them and they want to move on, I say good riddance.  Now if you’re a legit shaving enthusiast and you just paid way too much for a Wolfman razor thinking you’d just flip it if you don’t like it, well, it’s a risk you took. The music stops at some point.

I've also been at it 15 years. My first 4 wolfies were at the old exorbitant 2nd hand prices on ebay. 2 of those I flipped (0.61s) and got my money back, still have the other two.

The rest of the herd either came from James directly, or from forum members where I paid the going price for full polish razors.

My issue is not that I can't 'flip' them for exorbitant prices, but that because the basic finish options have changed the used market.

A lot of guys (me included) are just as happy with the 'lesser' finish for lesser $.

Ergo, if you have the high polish stuff there's fewer buyers than when that was the only game in town.

I love the fact that he instituted the google form order system. Anyway .... different strokes for different folks.

Over a thousand transactions and they don't have my tax numbers so I'm not sure where you got that.

And I preferred using PayPal versus their new method which is just a way to cut PayPal out so they can make more money themselves.

This is quite tricky. If I am gonna sell my razors, do I need to pay income tax? Since I might not have receipts for some of them.
Like (1) traded razors; (2) razors purchased in a lot; (3) razor paid with WU; or (4) razors got from friends with F&F...
