The den is graced this week with the TWhite Igor adjustable SE. It's an ingeniously simple and effective design, no pins to lose, no incantations required to load and solidly secure a blade. I took my time with Igor on its more aggressive setting, occasionally losing the angle which I attribute mostly to having been away from SEs and their ways for a while. Three passes to a beautiful BBS shave, no irritation. I think with a little practice I'll get that down to two.[Image: 15c8a9f811b885da71e07d262095e99e.jpg]

10 shaves in on my current PTFE blade. Today I used the Pushbutton. I think it's my favorite of the GEM razors I own. For whatever reason, every time I use it I get a fantastic, close and irritation free shave no matter what soap I use. Great little razor!

Typically I find that the shaves do drop off a bit around #13, then for some reason that I can't possibly hope to explain, they pick up again. I have 16 shaves on this blade and it doesn't appear to be getting better again.

I honored SEptember by beginning my antique SE journey. I now have 7 of them. Three GEMs and four injectors. I can't lie, I've had a few DE shaves this month.

I like the pushbutton as well. I think, I got a better shave with it than the G-bar, although I really enjoy both razors.

They're exactly the same head, as is the Feather Weight.

They sure are.  However, I've gotten better shaves with both the G-bar and the Pushbutton.  Only thing I can figure is the weight difference on both compared to the featherweight.  The g-bar is definitely the heaviest. But yea I hear you on that one.  Makes no sense to me.  And i've shaved with all three back to back to back before.  They just shave ever so slightly different to me.  Just my dummy use case. Remember however, that other than the Hawk/Colonial, these are my first single-edges so who knows. Perhaps my angle with all of them isn't consistent either.

A few years back I bought a Gem on ebay and thought, Why would I ever use anything else? That's how close and comfortable the shaves were with Ted Pella blades. Razor madness set in. I bought a bunch of vintage SEs, some in remarkably good shape. They are fun to look at and fun to shave with.

So as a follow-up I decided to use another G injector as well as the E injector again. Kind of used them in tandem. I realized I just do not like that head on those for some reason. The G and E are not for me. I'm probably going to clean up these two and trade for an I/J/L series because I really believe those injectors are my sweet spot.

Shaved again with the J series this morning. Just an absolutely gorgeous shave for a second go with any razor. I and J are apparently my wheelhouse. Incredible smooth, close shave. I'm blown away at how well these razors shave.
